After seeing a youtube video about FPS's it reminded me of the old Quake II lithium days. I googled to see if any servers were still up & came across this site. The google link took me to a post where VeniVidiVici had posted. (I laughed) I can't remember if he was friend or foe back in the day, but I certainly do remember the name. It's crazy how much time can pass, and then one day you rediscover some random person you may have played an online game with 10 years ago or more.

I wish I knew how many hours of my youth were spent playing this game! I quit after it's popularity had died down a lot. Aimbots had become more and more popular and good competition was not as easy to come by. The combination of some folks actually using bots, along with the people who called me a bot while I never used one, was enough to make me hang it up.

I'm glad to see that it is still alive. As of now I am just looking forward to Diablo III. Maybe one of these evenings I'll pop in the old Q2 CD and see if I can find me some quad damage & haste.

Unfortunately lithium has been 100% death - both US & EU - for about 4-5 months for some reason unknown to me. Dunno why it came this so suddenly, since at best there were about 10 regulars and maybe another 10-20 random visitors in Lithiun Vanilla server every friday. Summer time really doesn't explain the current inactivity.

I got little ping problem at the moment, because my old provider (that still sucks and affects my ping, even though I use another provider now) screwed up my conenction and once it was back online ping has been 30 higher than it was before. Until it's sorted out my ping in EU servers is about 80 and 190 in Vanilla, which is already too much. 160 is somehow tolerable for lithium, so I can play again once I get my old ping back.

I remember playing on the 'axes 4 all' servers in NL, with my teammates the UnwantedAngelz. Great times, though so long ago I feel ancient now. I always loved the 'tongue in cheek' gamestyle of Lithium II, the plonkers that hung on to walls gibbing people with their rocket launchers, the runes that everyone went for... but it brought me together with a bunch of people over the internet, and somehow made us all feel like good friends.

God bless you, Lithium 2, you brought me some good times in the past, maybe I'll seek out a server for old time's sake - though my reflexes will not be quite as good as they were in the good old days

Yes, it's me, [UA]SirFragalot, going through a bit of dreamy nostalgia I remember the team, we did all right on the EU rankings at the time :-D

Remember Bounce&Rail (TM) ? lol, there was that one level on Q2 where you could leave the map and end up bouncy like a crazy ass and it was a challenge to rail people from there

I also remember the 'plafondhangers' - the guys who just hung on to the ceiling with their rocket launcher and quad and smeared innocents across the corridor

I used to play Lithium Q2 all the time, between 5 and 10 years ago.

Rail-only was my favorite, but I would play on some servers called tastyspleen and bloody waters if I remember correctly.

Anyway, I want to play again and I'm hoping someone around here is still active. I am on Gameranger under the name Stinkfinger123 and I will be checking back on the server page of this website. Talk to you soon hopefully.
